TV TODAY Q1 NET PROFIT ALMOST DOUBLES

       

               TV Today Network's net profit for the quarter ended 30th Jun 2018 has almost doubled to Rs 40.99 crores from Rs. 20.82 crores in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year. The Company's revenue from operations jumped to Rs. 181.8 crores from Rs 164.6 crores in the year-ago period. Expenses jumped to Rs 126.3 crores as against Rs. 124.6 crores. The operating profit from TV broadcasting segment jumped to Rs 57.1 crores. Revenue from the segment was up to Rs 158.8 crores from Rs 144 crores. Radio broadcasting operating loss reduced to Rs 1.01 crores from Rs 2.37 crores in the year-ago period. The revenue dropped to Rs 5.78 crores as against Rs 6.83 crores.


                The India Today group promotes TV Today Network. It broadcasts 24-hour news channels Aaj Tak, Tez & Dilli Aaj Tak (regional news) in Hindi & India Today Television in English. The Company also runs 3 radio stations (Ishq 104.8FM) in Delhi, Mumbai & Kolkata, During fiscal 2017, TVTN acquired Mail Today from Living Media India Ltd (LMIL). The company expects to diversify its revenue profile while gaining synergy benefits from the common use of newsgathering platforms for its multiple businesses.
